The pretreatment ensures an even and durable paint film
With the right pretreatment, coats of paint last much longer and look better. In addition, pretreatment also serves the purpose of protecting the material from atmospheric influence or exposure, pests, mould and fungi. It ensures that the durability of furniture and components made of wood or metal is increased tremendously. The low costs for the appropriate means thus pay for themselves very quickly.
Thorough pretreatment is important for every paint job. The surface is cleaned and protected against all kinds of external influences. In this way, the paint adheres better and has longer durability.
Degreaser and rust remover for surfaces made of metal
For fences, furniture and other objects made of metal, the removal of rust is important. It not only prevents the adhesion of the paint layer but also destroys the material. Rust can be removed with a rust converter, which converts the rust into passivating iron phosphate. However, it does not provide rust protection for the material, which is why you should apply a rust protection primer to iron and steel after this treatment. This is followed by the final coat of paint. Also, grease reduces the adhesion between paint and a metal surface and should therefore be carefully removed. For this you can use our ADLER Entfetter (degreaser). Apply it with a paintbrush or a sponge, let it take effect for a few minutes and then wash the metal with water.
Degreyer and protective primers for wood
Wood often forms a patina when it is outdoors for a long time. This is a natural process, which is why furniture with a patina has a certain charm. Before coating with a transparent wood finish, however, this greyish covering must be removed with a wood degreyer. This cleaning removes algae and other contaminants from the wood, making it appear a little brighter. Wood outside also requires wood protection from fungi and pests. Wurmex from our shop, for example, is suitable for this purpose. Afterwards, the wood can be painted with a transparent wood finish in the desired colour shade
For walls, pretreatment can prevent mould
Pretreatment of walls is especially necessary in case of an attack of mould. It is extremely harmful to health and should therefore be combated as quickly as possible. To remove mould you can use our spray Schimmelex. We also offer this in a set with a brush and paint. The antimould paint prevents mould from forming again on the wall and can then be coated with a conventional wall paint.
