Paint rollers or varnishing rollers for coating surfaces

Rollers and paint rollers for painting and varnishing walls, furniture and other objects are available in many different designs and with different pile heights. Some models are suitable for fine surfaces, others for coarsely structured surfaces such as plastered facades. When purchasing a paint roller, it is therefore important to take into account the substrate and the paint that the roller is to be used for.

Using rollers and paint rollers large areas such as walls and ceilings can be quickly painted with a wall paint. These rollers are mounted on a bracket and can therefore easily be replaced if necessary. When buying in our shop ADLER Farbenmeister, however, be aware that there are brackets in different sizes. The diameter of the rod on which the roller is placed is usually in the range of six to eight millimetres.

Paint rollers for special applications

Special paint rollers are available for radiators and other hard-to-reach places. These rollers are quite small and have a low pile height. As a result, the sides of the radiator ribs can also be painted with them.

The varnishing rollers for fine surfaces are even smoother and are suitable for synthetic resin paints.

Another variant is the padded paint roller. It is mainly used for coating highly structured substrates such as facades. Their padding eliminates irregularities and ensures that even deep spots are sufficiently painted. When using padded paint and facade rollers it is therefore not necessary to apply pressure or to touch up individual spots with a paintbrush.

Our tip for cleaning paint rollers

Good quality paint rollers last a very long time if they are thoroughly cleaned after use. If you have painted with a water-soluble paint, clear water is sufficient for cleaning. Solvent-based paints should be diluted with a dilution.

Telescopic handles and stirrups for the paint roller

It is considerably easier to paint ceilings with a telescopic handle. It can be extended to the desired size and fixed with a special lock. Telescopic handles are usually made of aluminium and are therefore relatively light. In addition, aluminium has the advantage that it does not rust. It can therefore be cleaned with water. The handle is fitted with a plastic grip to make it easy to hold.

The small stirrups with a handle are suitable for painting easily accessible places. The stirrups allow the roller to be swapped, so you can use a stirrup in combination with several paint rollers for different colours, varnishes and transparent wood finishes. This is how all walls, furniture, fences and many other things in the house and garden get the desired colour.
