Concrete sealing increases the durability of concrete surfaces
Concrete sealing increases the durability of concrete surfaces and makes them look beautiful for longer. It acts as a protective film that prevents liquids, dust or dirt from penetrating into the concrete. For this purpose, there are various products which are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. In addition, floors and other concrete structural elements can be prepared with a suitable primer.

Although concrete is very robust and long-lasting, cracks can also form in this material over time. Water and other liquids such as oils easily penetrate these cracks and reduce the quality of the concrete from the inside. To prevent this, there is the concrete seal made of epoxy resin, which forms a protective layer on the concrete. It both increases durability and has a significant influence on the appearance. Cleaning a sealed surface is also easier because the dirt cannot penetrate the pores of the concrete. Last but not least, a floor seal can also reduce dust formation.
Sealing floors inside and outside
Concrete seals are available for indoor and outdoor areas. In buildings, the seal is often used for floor coverings in the basement or in the garage. There, in addition to its protective function, it fulfils above all a visual purpose, because a sealed floor looks more homely and does not get stained over time. The weather-proof products based on acrylic resin are also suitable for the sealing of facades, kerbstone edges and pedestals. They are also highly abrasion resistant due to the addition of a hardener, which is why products such as our ADLER 2K-Epoxi-Beschichtung are also used on particularly heavily stressed floors in trade. If the paint is to fulfil a protective function at the same time, it can be applied with a road marking paint. It allows, for example, the vertical surface of a kerbstone to be coated in order to prevent accidents.
Application of concrete seals
A concrete seal can usually be applied directly to the concrete. Strongly sanding substrates, however, should be coated with a deep primer. The Tiefengrund (deep primer) is particularly suitable for this purpose and can be bought from our shop ADLER-Farbenmeister. It forms a closed surface on concrete and screed and solidifies it. If the surface is subsequently painted with a coloured concrete seal made of epoxy resin, spotted drying can be prevented at the same time. Our water-based deep primer is suitable for indoor and outdoor use because it is low-odour and generally recognized as safe. For facades and concrete surfaces outdoors, however, you can also use our solvent-based deep primer with an even higher protective effect. .
