 When painting the walls and ceilings in living areas, water-based dispersion paints are mainly used. These wall paints are available in silky glossy and matt finishes as well as in many different colour shades. In addition, there are many other wall paints. They possess special properties such as high water resistance, good adhesion on certain substrates or provide protection from mould.

An attractive decorative wall painting forms the basis for a pleasant atmosphere in the living areas. It also follows current trends, which is why there are always new living ideas in magazines and other media. Ultimately, however, despite all trend colours, the painting of the walls should always be adapted to the furnishing style. This creates a uniform concept in the rooms and thus a comfortable home.

Water-based and silicate-based wall paints

Wall paints are suitable for painting the walls and the ceiling. They can be applied with a paintbrush or roller or applied by spraying.  It is important, however, that the substrate is dry, clean and free of grease. Also cracks and other irregularities should be removed before painting to create a flat surface.

Wall paints are available from our shop ADLER-Farbenmeister in white, gold or silver with noble metal effect or also mixed in many colour shades. Alternatively, you can also order white wall paint and use our Colorit stainer to mix a colour to your taste. The stainer is suitable for all water-based dispersion paints, but can also be used as a full-tone colour. 

Wall paints are usually produced in water-based form and can be applied to a wide range of substrates, such as woodchip paper, gypsum plaster, concrete or gypsum plaster boards. However, for mineral substrates such as plaster and concrete, the silicate-based products such as our mineral colour ADLER Tiromin are well suited.

Wall paints with special properties

In addition to conventional wall paints, there are products with certain properties. Thus, our Formel-San mould protection colour combats mould in the home. It can be used as a precaution in areas at risk, but also on already afflicted walls. If you want to use this colour on walls with mould, you should remove the mould beforehand. For example the ADLER SchimmelEX Antischimmelspray (anti-mould spray) is suitable for this purpose. 

Rooms like the kitchen and the bathroom, which often have high humidity, can be painted with a latex paint like the ADLER Strong-Weiß in addition to a conventional wall and ceiling paint. Latex paints are very water resistant and easy to clean. For this reason, they are also used for the corridor, the stairwell and other heavily used areas. They are equally suitable in other living areas for the base area, which gets dirty easily.
