Special paints – for special purposes or an extravagant appearance

Special paints are available in a wide variety of finishes. Some are required for surfaces subject to particular stress and are particularly robust or heat-resistant. In the case of special paints, it is necessary to distinguish between those paints which must meet special requirements and those which should simply look interesting. The first group includes, for example, stove and machine paints, which are particularly heat-resistant or robust. The second group includes the gold paints and the many other effect paints, which give furniture and structural elements in house and garden a beautiful appearance. 

Effect paints for optically interesting surfaces

With a special paint, even wood, plastic or some other material can be painted, which makes it look as if it were made of metal. The Goldlack (gold paint), the Silberlack (silver paint) or the Kupferlack (copper paint) from our shop ADLER Farbenmeister are, for example, suitable for metal surfaces. After drying, these paints have a metallic gloss and at the same time offer good rust protection when painting metal. Equally interesting in their appearance are the effect paints, which give fences, gates and other components a wrought-iron or aluminum-like appearance. 

Special paints for surfaces that become hot

For painting radiators and stoves there are paints which are particularly heat-resistant, since ordinary paints would easily crack or yellow on a hot surface. Our ADLER Ofenlack (stove paint) can easily withstand temperatures of up to 500 °C. We have developed it for the surface treatment of stoves, stove pipes and chimney accessories. Because of its high heat resistance, you can also use the stove paint for painting car parts on the car or motorcycle.

Machine paints are particularly impervious

A paint is also subjected to high stress on equipment and machine components. For this purpose there is the machine paint based on synthetic resin. The synthetic resin contained in it is synthesised from mineral oil. It makes the paint layer robust and thus impervious to impacts and scratches. Nevertheless, it remains elastic, meaning that it does not crack when subjected to stress. Paints based on synthetic resin also have the advantage that they cover larger colour differences and adhere very well even on smooth substrates.  Machine paints are therefore suitable for all machines and equipment in trade, industry and agriculture.
