Degreaser and cleaner for the preparation of surfaces

In order for paints and varnishes to adhere well, the substrate must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased in advance. Agents such as acetone are suitable for this purpose. It removes greases, oils and soiling and even dissolves resins and PU foam. After this treatment the surface can be designed according to your own wishes. The paintbrushes and rollers used can also be cleaned with an acetone cleaner.

Dirt and grease prevent paints and varnishes from adhering to the substrate. A surface must therefore be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before painting or varnishing. Many painters use acetone cleaners for this since they are capable of solvating resins and PU foam once again. They are used mainly to clean metal surfaces and paintbrushes, rollers and other tools after painting

Detergent based on acetone

Acetone is colourless and smells a little sweet. It is used for the cleaning and degreasing of surfaces, but also serves as the basis for the production of perspex. It is useful in the field of painting because it removes grease, oil and resin. Even remnants of PU foam, which is often used to foam windows and doors on construction sites, can be loosened with it. With a detergent based on acetone from our shop ADLER Farbenmeister, you can therefore thoroughly prepare a surface in order to subsequently varnish or paint it how you like. In this way the paint or varnish finds sufficient support and has longer durability. An acetone cleaner is also suitable for cleaning paintbrushes and paint rollers.

Instructions for the storage and use of acetone

When storing acetone in your workshop be a little careful because acetone is highly flammable and irritatingKeep out of the reach of children in a cool place and seal the container carefully after use. Acetone not only degreases surfaces, but also your skin.  When working wear a pair of work gloves, which can be ordered from our shop. Inhalation of water vapour may irritate the bronchial tubes and cause headaches. Breathing equipment is therefore also recommended for working with an acetone cleaner. Because of the slight flammability of acetone, which is an explosive mixture even in combination with air, you should also remember not to smoke during work and ensure adequate ventilation.
