Thinner – for the cleaning and processing of varnishes with the spray gun

Dilutions are used when spraying paints to make the paint more fluid so that it can be sprayed more easily. Because paints are made on the basis of very different substances, thinners are also available in various designs. In addition, dilutions are also suitable for the cleaning of surfaces and the cleaning of typical painting tools such as paintbrushes and colour rollers.

Thinners are used in two ways. They are mixed with a paint to make it slightly thinner. This allows it to be sprayed onto the surface with a cup gun or other equipment. In addition, dilutions are also used for the cleaning of material to be painted and the tools used. They solvate tack-dry paints once again so that paintbrushes and paint rollers can still be used.

Thinners are available in versions for various types of paint

If you want to spray a paint from our shop ADLER Farbenmeister you should pay attention when buying a dilution to ensure it matches the chosen paint. For example, our KH-Spritzverdünnung (synthetic resin spray dilution) is suitable for synthetic resin and machine paints and our Nitro Verdünner (nitro thinner) for paints based on nitrocellulose. Please take a look at the technical data sheet of the paint or contact us to find the right product. You can also mix plastic wood with a thinner so that it can be worked with more easily. Our Grilith Verdünnung (Grilith dilution) is suitable for this purpose. For polyester-based fillers, however, it is best to use our PE-Verdünnung (PE dilution).

Turpentine oil, (methylated) spirit and other cleaning products

In addition to the Nitro Verdünner which is free of aromatic hydrocarbons, we also offer products suitable for cleaning surfaces and tools in our shop. These include turpentine oil and (methylated) spirit, which our customers also like to use in the household.

You may be familiar with petroleum mainly as a fuel. It also dissolves greases, oils and waxes and can therefore also be used as a cleaning agent. However, do not use it to clean surfaces that you subsequently intend to paint. Petroleum is not suitable for this purpose because it forms a fine film which prevents the adhesion of paint. Cleaners for cleaning and degreasing surfaces before painting or varnishing can be found in the pretreatment section of our shop. Using them you can not only remove dirt and grease, but also remove rust from metal and algae from wood and other coverings. The more thoroughly you prepare the surfaces, the more beautiful and durable the new coat of paint.
